To encourage a graduate whose career plans involve music as an educator or performer. Presented in recognition of contributions by Bernie and Dorothy Ackerman to Northshore School District music programs at all grade levels.
Criteria
- Available to graduates of all six secondary high schools within the Northshore School District.
- Financial need is a consideration.
- Applicant intends to enroll in a university level school or an accredited professional music education program.
- Plans to major in Music, securing a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent.
- Has attained a grade-point-average of 2.75 or better.
- List activities demonstrating interest and participation in public or school performance and/or in instructional programs.
- Through involvement with one of these fields, has demonstrated a strong commitment for service to others in the community.
Requirements
- Finalist Candidates are interviewed by a committee comprised of members appointed by the Scholarship Foundation.
